My First Selfie – Fail!
I’m very excited to announce that I will be doing a book signing at THE CHAUTAUQUA INSTITUTION at 12:30 on Sunday, June 29th, in the Author’s Alcove in Bestor Plaza. This is a huge honor, and I am more than humbled.
I did my first reading at the Bemus Point Library, and it was terrific. Here’s the coolest, and most touching, thing. I admired a woman’s earrings before things started, and after the reading she asked me to sign a book, and get this: she gave me her beautiful earrings! Of course, I initially refused to accept them, but she insisted. They’ve already morphed from my “lucky” earrings to my “magic” earrings.
And I got to do a wonderful radio interview with the great Jim Roselle, broadcast from the Chautauqua Bookstore. It felt like I was with an old friend.
Even though all these cool things are happening, I want to assure everyone that I am still not cool. Right now I’m redoing a load of laundry that I dried and folded, but forgot to wash. And sharing my first “selfie.” I was trying to take a picture of the beautiful earrings. FAIL. I thought I did everything wrong imaginable until my daughter reminded me it could have been worse — I could have been naked.
